THURSDAY WORKOUT!!

Today was another power session workout. What we did was 5 by 3's and ''waves" which are when you traverse diagonally left up to the top of the wall and then go down diagonally to the bottom. Right before we started, Tyson had a little talk with us. He said that we shouldn't be climbing on the slabs since slabs don't give you power and endurance. Instead, we should be climbing on the super steeps. He let it go this time since there were new routes on the slab that we wanted to try.

My new project is this purple V7. It starts with a sidepull sloper facing to the right and then you move up to this juggy thingy. After that, you go up to this crimp and then just crank through to another crimp. If you're tall, you bump to this really bad sloper and if you're short you match the crimp and go to the sloper with your left hand. This is where I get stuck. I wonder if I can ever make the move of of the hold. It is called an UDDER.

  1. i would like to point out that i didnt say to stay off the slabs. i just want kids to understand that they need to diversify their climbing. too many of our kids strictly stay on the vert because that is what they can climb. but the minute they have to tug on the steep, they get destroyed. get on the steep and you will crush the steep. get on the slab and you will crush the slab. be prepared for anything.
